In Africa, vehicle ownership can mean the difference between surviving and thriving

Capital providers and micro investors across Africa are eager to finance mobility but face two major pain points:
lack of transparency over how funds are deployed and difficulty measuring real impact.

That’s where Blockride began. An equittable marketplace to bridge this gap and unlock fair, transparent vehicle financing. It streamlines processes, improves reporting, and safeguards investments.

THE GOAL

Design a platform that makes financing:

  • Accessible to fleet operators.

  • Transparent so repayment progress is always clear.

  • Trustworthy for both operators and investors.

Design Story

1. Listening to the People Who Matter

To understand the real problem, I spoke directly with potential users—institutions that needed financing—and stakeholders who wanted to invest. These conversations uncovered the frustrations and fears on both sides, from exploitative loan terms to lack of visibility into repayments.

2. Mapping the Experience

From those insights, I drew a user flow that outlined the structure of the platform. This helped clarify how investors would sign up, do KYC, fund vehicles, and monitor portfolio performance.

The Solution

The result was a cohesive platform design with:

  • 170+ dashboard screens tailored for investors.

  • A waitlist landing page that communicated Blockride’s value clearly.

  • A brand system ready to scale as Blockride grows.

Blockride taught me that Web3 in fintech is as much about trust as it is about usability. By putting clarity and transparency at the center, we gave users confidence in a system they’ve often felt excluded from.

This project showed me the power of combining research, brand storytelling, and user-centered design to create solutions that matter in people’s lives.
